I met Sam during my first shot at the 300 level graphics class in 2013. The class itself was a very talented class, and Sam was no exception.
Honestly, I don't know if Sam was tired or what, but I thought he seemed kind of serious and looked a little angry. However, the next class I had my first actual conversation with him and realized he was pretty rad.
Sam was head of AIGA this year, and I ended up attending a lot of the events they held this year. We did all sorts of things from having a cook out to listening to famous / talented designers come and talk to us, and it was a lot fun getting to know Sam (as well as everyone else,) through those.
Sam, you're one talented kid and your beard is phenomenal. I'm glad I got to have a bunch of classes with you over these last 2-3 years. You're a fun guy to talk to and definitely a character. May your beard always be full and your designs always kick-ass!
